my dad turns 63 tomorrow.  he is a truly great man and i love him a lot.  amidst the insanity of this week i found myself back in the ICP digital lab, scanning film and making a print of this picture of my parents i took at thanksgiving.  this morning i mounted it on wood, tied a string around it, made a little card and wrapped it up.  it’s a little rough but, well, my parents are used to getting half-baked art ideas as gifts.  they always respond with a charming combination of confused and bemused.  but for me it’s always really nice to see my former ideas around their house – a reminder of older art-phases and how much we love each other.  off now to the birthday brunch… hope he likes it.
